The Master of Professional Accounting is a Graduate conversion course which may allow non-accounting graduates an opportunity to develop skills in accounting and meet the entry requirements for accreditation with the Australian professional accounting bodies.
The course may cover introductory as well as advanced units in financial and management accounting, finance, systems, tax and company law, auditing, economics and business statistics.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Students who complete this award may be eligible for Associate membership of the National Institute of Accountants (NIA).
Students may also apply for Associate membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or CPA Australia.
SPECIFIC ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Applicants for admission shall:
(a) have fulfilled all the requirements for admission to a three year degree or qualification of equivalent standing at this or another university or tertiary institution;
OR
(b) have completed the Graduate Certificate in Accounting or any graduate certificate as approved by the Course Coordinator with a minimum Credit grade average; OR
(c) have completed the Graduate Diploma in Accounting or any graduate diploma as approved by the Course Coordinator.
PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION
This course is recognised by the National Institute of Accountants. Graduates of this program may also be eligible to apply for membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or CPA Australia.
